ABOUT GROUPS
Our LIFE Groups are sermon-based groups. That means we focus our groups on going deeper with Sunday's message.
If you grew up in church as some of us did, you may have gone to Sunday School and heard one lesson; then to worship to hear another. You may have gone back Sunday night and heard another message and then maybe even back on Wednesday night to hear another distinctively different message from all the rest. Unfortunately, all these separate Bible teachings can have the negative side-effect of training us to file away knowledge without ever fully applying it.
Sermon-based small groups move us toward an examination of how we were challenged by God's Word over the weekend. The emphasis is on integration and application.
In Sermon-based groups, one primary question is being asked; (in many different ways, of course.)
"How are we going to help each other fully put this Word from God into practice?"
Acts 2:42-44 The Message Bible They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers. Everyone around was in awe - all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common.
Study Guides:
Each weekend a guide for our group meetings will be posted on the Study Guides page (the link is located on the sidebar). This guide contains a list of questions that challenge us to think more deeply about the message we have heard from the weekend communicator. (You can also pick up one of these guides at the Information Center).
Wednesday Night Groups:
We believe in the affect that grouping has upon our spiritual growth. So much so, that we have devoted our Wednesday evenings completely to grouping. Each Wednesday at 6:30 PM our Connection facility is open to group meetings. Student and kids activities are available as well as nursery. Our Connection Café is also open.
